Welcome

Welcome to the Uffculme School website

Uffculme School provides high quality education for children and young people with a primary diagnosis of ASD on three sites in the Moseley / Kings Heath area of Birmingham. We offer co-education for children and young people of the ages 4 to 19 years from all parts of the city. Students represent the wide cultural mix that makes up the general population of Birmingham. We are a successful school with a long and proven track- record of providing high quality education for pupils with ASD. We currently cater for a total of 217 students and consequently are full in all year groups.

Our Foundation, KS1 and KS2 students are based on the Woodlands site in Queensbridge Road in attractive grounds, comprising 7 acres. This borders onto Highbury Park which has enabled us to develop part of the site to accommodate a Forest School. Our KS3 and KS4 students (11-16 yrs) are primarily based at Chamberlain House, which is situated 400 metres from our primary building. Our Russell Road building (400 metres from Chamberlain House) caters for KS5 (students aged 16-19 yrs) who have the most complex ASD needs. The education here focuses on preparing the students for adult life with an emphasis on daily living skills.

We are extremely proud of the work that we do at Uffculme and are always seeking to improve in our practice and to develop the opportunities we present to our pupils in order to help achieve their best. Our recent Ofsted (June 2019) awarded us a grading of Good. We are keen to move this to Outstanding and have lots of exciting ideas to help us get there. Staff at Uffculme are warm and supportive towards all of our pupils and there is a real sense of caring and high expectations around the school. As Headteacher, it is a school of which I am incredibly proud.
